Year Opened:1964
First Game:vs. Tioga, September 11, 1964 (33-0 Winnfield win)
Namesake:Alwin Stokes - Winnfield High School head football coach from 1917 to 1923 and 1933 to 1934. Won a state title in 1919 with his undefeated, unscored-on team. His first seven teams compiled a 33-7-1 record, while his last two teams went 10-8-2.
W. D. Walker - Principal, Atlanta High School (1929-1934), Winnfield Schools (1935-1951 – which included both elementary and high school) and Eastside and Westside Elementary (1952-1954). Superintendent, Winn Parish Schools (1955-1961).
